Introduction to Chest Physiotherapy (CPT) and its Techniques

Introduction of the module

This module describes the key concepts of Chest Physio Therapy (CPT). CPT includes postural drainage, chest percussion, vibration, coughing and deep-breathing exercises that is helpful to mobilize or loosen the secretions in the lungs and respiratory tract especially for patients with large amount of secretions or ineffective cough.

Objectives:

This module help the learner to:

• Understand the basic concepts of CPT
• Help nurses gain necessary skill in performing CPT
