Naso Gastric (NG) Tube Insertion, Removal and Feeding
Introduction of the module
Patients in the hospital, as well as home care settings, often require nutritional supplementation with enteral feeding.
In the present module we would be discussing about three basic procedures related to gastro-intestinal (GI) system namely Naso Gastric (NG) tube insertion, removal and feeding.
Objective:
This module help the learner to:
- Discuss about NG tube insertion, feeding and removal
- Demonstrate skill in assessing client prior to and after insertion or removal of NG tube or feeding
- Demonstrate the technique of performing NG tube insertion, feeding and removal
